BIAS BINDING SERIES: Part 6 - How to Make Bias Binding

Welcome to part six of my bias binding series - How to make bias tape user a bias tape making tool.

You'll need an iron, a flat surface to work on, your bias fabric strip and a tape maker with the correct size tip for the binding you're making.

Turn on your iron and ensure that you have the steam setting on. Steam helps to set the creases better.

Take your tape maker and thread the fabric through the wide opening at the back until it starts to come out of the other end. You can use a pin to help push it through if you need to.

Once your iron has reached temperature, place it on top of the binding coming out of your tape maker. Then grab the little handle and gradually pull it along your fabric strip and iron the fabric as it comes out the other end.

Make sure that the fabric is sitting centrally inside the tool and not sliding over to one side or the other. If it is, stop and re-adjust.

Continue ironing until you come to the end of your fabric strip and then take a look at your perfectly folded binding!

The fabric and the tool will obviously be hot from the iron, so let it cool for a bit before touching it!
